Report Manager is the central hub for managing reports, schedules, and templates. It provides an organized way to create, edit, and manage reports.
Add Report Create a new Report using the "Add Report" button. This will display a dialogue box that users can follow through in creating the new report.
Reports List Table Users will see the Reports made in a table. The table will show its' Name, Created, Modified and Copy, Edit and Delete buttons.
Report Type Select from either "Custom" (completely new report) or "From Template" (start off from a Templated Report).
Report Name The title of the report (e.g., "Water Report"). This is how it will be named in the Reports Table List.
Schedule Users can either select a pre-configured Schedule or create a new Schedule when going through the Report Builder.
Report Builder is a tool for designing custom report and report templates by arranging elements, setting data sources, and configuring layout settings.
Back to Report Manager This button allows users to return to the main Report Manager interface, where they can view or manage other reports.
Edit/Preview Toggle Users can switch between "Edit" and "Preview" modes to see what their report will look like.
Preview PDF Preview the Report in an A4 PDF format. This format is common and suitable for printing and emailing/sharing.
Save This button is used to save the current report configuration or changes made to the report.
Right Control Panel - General This right-hand panel contains General Default settings within the Report Builder Workspace. These settings include:
Name (Title of the report)
Schedule (Set pre-configured schedule on the report)
Report Date Range (Set date range viewed in the report)
Data Sources (Data streams included in report)
Template (Convert Report into a Template)
Right Control Panel - Schedule This dropdown allows users to select a pre-configured schedule for when the report should be generated and sent out.
Right Control Panel - Report Date Range Let's users define the date range for the data that will be included in the report.
Right Control Panel - Data Sources Enables users to select and configure the data sources that the report will pull information from.
Data Sources Users can select and configure data streams with the desired data range, aggregation, data color etc. to be used in visualizations and analysis within the report. The data stream will appear in the Right-Hand Panel under Data Sources. From here users can edit their data streams or delete them.
Template Create a template from this report to use it as a starting point for future reports.
Delete Remove the report.
Edit Mode Users in edit mode are able to have complete control of their report layout workspace. Similar to the Dashboard Creation, Report Builder utilizes a click and drag interaction to move the report elements around.
Header Container The header appears at the top of every report page and typically provides a space for consistent branding and contextual information about a customer.
Body Container The body is the core section where actual report data and analysis is displayed.
Container Edit Options The containers include options on adding more containers, elements or cut/copy/duplicate to help build out the users' report.
Footer Container The footer appears at the bottom of every report page and provides more contextual or branding elements related to the customer. It also provides the page number labelled on the bottom right.
Left Control Panel The left panel will display the Parameters and settings related to the container or elements selected in the workspace. Common settings include Size (width of container or element), Space (container or element margins) and Layout (body content margins). The Parameters of each element are explained in their respective sections within this document.
Elements A number of elements are available for users to include within the report for data visualization purposes. For further information on each element, please refer to Report and Template Elements.
Preview PDF View Preview the Report in an A4 PDF format. This format is common and suitable for printing and emailing/sharing.
Save Users can save their Report configurations and progress for future editing.
